What I do:
60-, 90-, and 120-minute workshops that combine yoga, meditation, sound bathing, and aromatherapy. My approach draws from neuroscience and somatic awareness to help people regulate their nervous systems, strengthen their bodies, and develop mental clarity—all in a grounded, accessible way.
The philosophy:
We live in a wild world—epic, beautiful, spontaneous, and inspiring. But sometimes, it can also be challenging and frightening. While we can’t change the wild world around us, we can change our relationship with it—and how we interact with it. In other words, we can let go of what we cannot change and lean into what we can: ourselves.
A look inside a workshop:
Just as regular physical exercise trains and conditions our muscles and cardiovascular system for optimal health and performance, consistently practicing evidence-based mindfulness and somatic exercises can train and condition the mind and nervous system to release and recover from stress. We can’t eliminate stress, but we can alleviate and navigate it more easily.
Core practices:
-

Mindfulness Meditation
Mindfulness meditation is an ancient practice in which students place their focus on one thing (typically the breath) to bring them into the present moment and out of the “thought spirals” our brains tend to get stuck in.
MBSR and the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn have brought forth a wealth of scientific, evidence based, research on all the benefits available from maintaining a consistent practice but don’t just take their word for it — come to a workshop to try it out for yourself!

Sound Bathing
There are many types of sound baths, but the Befriending The Wild approach is designed to be a deeply immersive, full-body experience. We pair aromatherapy with premium vibrational instruments—including crystal singing bowls, hand-crafted nickel and silver gongs, and other resonant idiophones—to create what we lovingly call “a massage for the nervous system.”
What can you expect? To be gently enveloped in layers of sound that soothe the mind, release emotional tension, and guide your body into a state of rest and recovery.

Yoga
At Befriending The Wild, yoga is more than a workout—it’s a space to return to yourself. Our practice emphasizes the integrative and unifying benefits of yoga, helping to quiet the mind and rebalance the body. Each asana (pose) becomes a moving meditation, guiding you back into connection with your breath and your body.
Our approach is slow and intentional, offering space to release stress, tension, and whatever you’ve been carrying.
If you’re looking for a “power flow,” this may not be the place. But if you’re seeking relief, release, and a deeper sense of physical and mental resilience, you’ll feel right at home.
